Michal Klar is originally from Poland and now lives in New Zealand. He found his passion in accelerating the new protein sector in the Asia-Pacific region, and founded Future Food Now (FFN) Ventures in 2018. He is actively investing in startups in the Asia-Pacific, and also offers consulting services related to the plant-based industry.
Michal is also an investor at Next Gen Foods which is creating plant-based food in Singapore.
After over 14 years of experience in ecommerce, Michal decided to do a sabbatical and moved to Bali with his family, where his daughter enrolled in a school with particular focus on sustainability.
On the side, he is also an investor at some of the leading alternative protein companies such as Change Foods, Memphis Meat, and Green Butcher, where he is also a an advisor. Further, he is an investor and advisor at Better Nature and Partly. In 2019, he co-founded the the food start-up Bite Society. From 2016-2018, Michal took an advisory role with some ecommerce investments at Garvest (VC), where he was also a Partner. He also invested in PRIA, one of the top digital agencies and independent mobile app developers in the Czech Republic, and helped build the ecommer mobile app Strelto. In New Zealand, he was an interim GM South East Asia for Suttlerock.
He has held impressive positions in the e-commerce and investing world. From 2011 to 2015, he was CEO of OLX Indonesia, establishing it as the No.1 market leader of horizontal classifieds with a team of 100+ and millions of users. He was also Head of International Operations, and Head of Ecommerce South East Asia at Naspers Limited, global internet group and one of the largest tech investors in the world. Prior to Naspers, he worked for Allegro.
Michal has a degree in Economics from the University of Warsaw, and a Harvard Business Executive Education.
